Mike Rowe was appointed the Department of Communities (Communities) Director General in 2021. Prior to joining Communities, Mr Rowe was Director General at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation and Department of Water.
Mr Rowe has almost 30 years’ experience working for the Western Australian public sector. He has worked in a variety of leadership, policy, advisory and delivery roles and is an experienced member of the State Government’s senior executive service.
Mr Rowe has worked across diverse portfolios, including social services, natural resources management, agriculture, environment and water. He has also worked with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and in other portfolio areas including Aboriginal affairs and public sector management. He is currently a member of the Western Australian Planning Commission.
