Kari Pnacek is the Assistant Secretary of Western Australia’s peak industry body; UnionsWA. She has spent more than two decades as a passionate advocate for workers’ rights in the labour movement both in the United States and Australia.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Michigan State University, a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Before UnionsWA, Kari spent eight years with the Transport Workers Union (TWU). Through her work at TWU she was a board member of the Logistics and Defence Skills Council, and spent four years as National Educator and Campaign coordinator; working to develop and implement training programs for union officials and delegates that cover more than 55,000 members across Australia.
