Gasfitting permit - Renewal
The Gas Standards Act 1972 and Gas Standards (Gasfitting and Consumer Gas Installations) Regulations 1999 requires a person to hold a gasfitting permit to undertake or supervise gasfitting work in Western Australia.
Gas fitters are sent three reminders via SMS and email for the renewal of their gasfitting permit. The last reminder is emailed one month prior to the expiry date, noting that it is the final reminder and advising gas fitters they will be unlicensed after the expiry date. Gas fitters undertaking or supervising gasfitting work after the expiry date may be in breach of the Gas Standards Act 1972 and disciplinary action may be taken.
It is your responsibility to ensure you hold a current permit at all times you are performing regulated work.
Remember, if you change your address, you must notify the Director of Energy Safety within 14 days of the change occurring.
