Energy Policy WA sought public comment on a licence exemption from Fortescue Metals Group Limited for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pilbara Energy Company Pty Ltd, to construct and operate an electricity transmission system known as the Pilbara Energy Connection.
The public consultation period on the application closed on 17 January 2020. A copy of the licence exemption application can be found below. No submissions were received on the application.
Pilbara Energy Company Pty Ltd has now been granted a transmission licence exemption by the Governor under section 8 of the Electricity Industry Act 2004. The exemption can be found in the Electricity Industry Exemption Order 2005 on the Western Australian Legislation website.
