From 1 July 2021, the Coordinator of Energy assumed governance functions previously held by the Rule Change Panel. Under the new governance arrangements, the Gas Advisory Board (GAB) is led by an Independent Chair, and is tasked with providing advice to the Coordinator of Energy in relation to Rule Change Proposals under consideration as well as the evolution of the Gas Services Information Rules.

The GAB was updated on EPWA’s review of the gas supply incident that occurred in early January 2023. Members had an opportunity to provide input into the review and discussed a number of issues related to the incident.
