Changes to the Electricity Networks Access Code 2004 are being proposed to extend key target dates which apply to Western Power’s sixth access arrangement (AA6) period.
Last updated:

Changes to the Access Code are being proposed to extend key target dates which apply to Western Power’s sixth access arrangement (AA6) period, which will commence on 1 July 2027, by 12 months.

The Electricity Networks Access Code 2004 requires the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) publish a ‘framework and approach’ document, which sets out the services that will be regulated through the access arrangement and the incentive mechanisms that will apply.

Under the Access Code, the ERA is required to publish a framework and approach scoping paper before 1 December 2024.

The proposed extension to key dates will allow for the resolution of key uncertainties prior to the publication of the framework and approach document by the ERA and the submission of Western Power’s proposed revisions for AA6.
