Electricity retail licence exemption granted to Protean Energy Pty Ltd

The Public Utilities Office sought public comment on an application from Protean Energy Ltd for a retail licence exemption to sell electricity to customers through solar power purchase agreements.

The Public Utilities Office advertised Protean Energy’s licence exemption application for public comment on 2 November 2016. No submissions were received.

Protean Energy Ltd has now been granted a retail licence exemption by the Governor under section 8 of the Electricity Industry Act 2004. A current version of the exemption can be found on the Western Australian Legislation website.
