Transitional restrictions are in effect from 12.01am Tuesday, 6 July 2021 until 12.01am Monday, 12 July 2021 for Perth and Peel, as we continue our safe and sensible pathway to pre-lockdown life.
People should return to work unless they are vulnerable, and mask-wearing requirements remain in place.
Regional travel is permitted with mask-wearing requirements, except to remote Aboriginal communities.
The following measures are in place:
Masks mandatory
- Indoors including in the workplace
- Public transport
- Outdoor areas where physical distancing is not possible
- Regular exemptions in place, including for medical reasons and primary school aged children or younger
- Masks are not required when undertaking vigorous exercise indoors or outdoors
Gatherings
- 30-person limit in all home for indoor private gatherings
- 150-person limit for outdoor private gatherings
Events
- Major stadiums and seated entertainment venues for performances can operate at 50 per cent capacity
- All other events must comply with 150 patron limit and 2sqm rule
Business and venues
- 150 patron limit and 2sqm rule for:
- Hospitality
- Beauty/hairdressing
- Public venues (swimming pools, recreation centres, outdoor playgrounds, museums)
- Fitness venues (gyms, pilates, yoga, dance studios). Indoor and outdoor fitness classes permitted, masks mandatory except when doing vigorous exercise
- Nightclubs
- Places of worship.
- Maximum 50 per cent capacity for:
- Major stadiums, including Optus Stadium, RAC Arena and HBF Park
- Seated entertainment venues for performances at theatres, concert halls, and cinemas
Regional travel
- Travel permitted into and out of Perth and Peel
- Anyone who travels outside Perth and Peel or has been in those regions since Sunday, 27 June is required to wear a mask subject to the same mask wearing requirements as those in Perth and Peel
- Travel to remote Aboriginal communities remains restricted
Community sport
- Permitted to go ahead with spectators
Weddings and funerals
- Limited to 150 guests
Hospitals, aged and disability care
- Maximum of 4 personal visitors per patient per day
- Masks mandatory for staff and visitors
- Non-urgent Category 2 and 3 elective surgeries have been postponed in metropolitan public hospitals up to and including Friday, 9 July. People are urged not to contact hospitals directly, as they will be contacted to reschedule.
It is vital that all Western Australians ensure they are registering their contact details at businesses and venues where contact registers are mandatory.
The SafeWA app is an efficient and safe way to assist contact tracing if it is required.
