Cannington Detectives attended a traffic crash in Riverton about 3:30pm yesterday, Friday 23 May 2025, involving a silver Kia Rio hatchback, a blue Honda sedan and a blue Subaru Crosstrek station wagon.

The three vehicles collided on Vahland Road near Betula Street.  The drivers of the vehicles - a 48-year-old man, a 47-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries.

Further inquiries by Cannington Detectives resulted in a search warrant being executed on the Kia Rio hatchback.  It will be alleged detectives located and seized assorted items from the vehicle.  Items seized included:
Multiple drugs and drug items
A firearm
A replica firearm
A sum of cash

A 48-year-old man from Morley was charged with 14 offences – including, but not limited to:
Possessed a Controlled Weapon.
Possessed an Article with Intent to Injure.
Possessed or Acquired Ammunition while not being Authorised by a Licence or Permit.
Unlawfully Possessed a Controlled or Prescription Drug.
Unlawfully Possessed a Firearm or Major Firearm Part.
Having Ready Access to Both Weapons and Illegal Drugs.
Possessed a Trafficable Quantity of Methylamphetamine with Intent to Sell or Supply it to Another.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 24 May 2025.
