Geraldton Detectives have charged a man in relation to the seizure of Methylamphetamine in Tarcoola Beach yesterday, Tuesday 31 December 2024.   About 1:20pm, a Toyota LandCruiser Prado travelling north on Brand Highway was stopped. It will be alleged a search of a male passenger located just over 53g of Methylamphetamine.   It is believed the drugs were destined for sale or distribution in the Carnarvon and Exmouth areas.   A 49-year-old man from Carnarvon has been charged with ‘Possessed a trafficable quantity of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply it to another’. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrate Court today, Wednesday 1 January 2025.   A WA Police Force spokesperson said the amount of drugs seized would have had a significant impact on small communities.   “Removing these drugs from the streets is a significant outcome for the Carnarvon and Exmouth communities, where it is believed these drugs were destined for.   “Methylamphetamine destroys lives and has a devastating impact on the community, and those impacts are felt even more in smaller regional communities where even only a small amount of illicit drugs can drive local crime, family violence and anti-social behaviour.   “WA Police Force remains committed to identifying and charging people involved in the sale and distribution of illicit drugs, and who prey on vulnerable members of the community for their own financial gain.”
