Stolen Firearms Recovered - Baynton

Karratha Detectives have recovered two stolen firearms and charged a 14-year-old juvenile male in relation to an incident that occurred in Baynton on 2 January 2024. 

It will be alleged; Between 11:45pm on Thursday, 2 January 2025, and 1:30am on Friday, 3 January 2025, the accused stole a set of car keys from a campsite at a caravan park on Rosemary Road.

It will be further alleged the accused used the stolen car keys to further steal a Nissan Patrol containing a shotgun and a rifle. 

 On Friday, 3 January 2024, the accused was arrested in Roebourne and charged with:
1 x Stealing
1x Steal Motor Vehicle
2 x Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition

The 14-year-old male juvenile from Roebourne is due to appear in the Karratha Children's Court on 24 January 2024.

Both firearms have been recovered by Police and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
