Gang Crime Squad officers have charged a man in relation to an evade police incident yesterday, Friday 3 January 2025, which started in South Lake and ended in Jandakot.   About 1:25pm, officers attempted to stop a white MG MG3 on Bolderwood Drive, South Lake. It will be alleged the driver failed to stop. Police Air Wing monitored the vehicle from the air, tracking its movements through several streets. It will be alleged the vehicle was driven in a reckless manner.   The MG was driven on Berrigan Drive, in Jandakot, and at the intersection of Jandakot Road it will be alleged the driver failed to stop at a red light and entered the intersection, crashing into a Mazda CX-5. The driver of the Mazda – a woman aged in her 50s - was taken by St John WA to Fiona Stanley Hospital. Her injuries were not believed to be serious.   The two occupants of the MG, the male driver and a female passenger, ran from the crash scene. They were both arrested after a foot chase through nearby bushland. The female passenger was taken to hospital due to injuries she received in the crash.   A 33-year-old man from South Lake, who it is alleged was the driver of the MG, has been charged with the following offences relating to yesterday’s incident: - 1 x Fail to Stop - 1 x Reckless Driving (to evade police) - 1 x No Authority Drive - 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine) - 1 x Failed to comply with a requirement to provide a sample of oral fluid   He has also been charged with the following unrelated offences: - 1 x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm - 1 x Being armed in a way that may cause fear - 2 x Breached a Family Violence Restraining Order - 1 x Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property - 2 x No Authority to Drive   He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Saturday 4 January 2025.
