The HFSS ROI is seeking interested community services in the Albany area to deliver intensive, wraparound supports for adults or families experiencing homelessness in the greater Albany region.

The model will deliver tailored supports for people who are sleeping rough by linking them to accommodation and appropriate support services including employment, health, mental health financial management, and social support.

HFSS, administered by Department of Communities, has been critical in supporting rough sleepers into housing and accommodation and providing them with the case management support they need to sustain their tenancies across Perth metro, Rockingham, Mandurah, Bunbury and Geraldton.

The ROI is part of the WA Government’s $15.7 million investment to expand HFSS across Western Australia announced earlier this year as part of the 2024-25 State Budget.

Establishing HFSS will also support the upcoming roll out of the Regional Supportive Landlord Model in Albany, which will boost the number of social homes and wraparound support services in the region.

The WA Government is investing $49 million to deliver the Regional Supportive Landlord Model which will provide up to 100 regional social homes across Albany, Geraldton, and Kalgoorlie.

The Supportive Landlord Model prioritises securing housing first for people experiencing homelessness, and then connecting them to essential support services to help maintain their tenancies.

The model is being successfully piloted under Djuripiny Mia, a landmark partnership with Housing Choices to deliver 100 social homes across Perth, Peel, and Bunbury.

To date, more than 80 homes which are supporting more than 150 individuals, including families and children, who were previously sleeping rough.

Service providers, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, are encouraged to apply.
