Detectives from the Sex Assault Squad have charged a 36-year-old man in relation to an alleged sexual assault incident that occurred in Rivervale on Monday 18 November 2024.

It will be alleged; the male victim and his friend were at Crown Perth, when they were approached by the accused, who is unknown to them.

The three males entered into conversation, and about 1:50am the three departed the complex and attended the accused’s residence in Rivervale.

Subsequently, it will be further alleged the victim was sexually assaulted, and when he tried to depart the residence, he was threatened with a knife.

The victim’s friend was outside the house at the time of the incident when he was alerted by the victim.

The friend assisted the victim in fleeing the area before they called police. A short time later, police attended and the accused was apprehended.

The victim and his friend sustained no injuries.

A 36-year-old man from Rivervale has been charged with:
• 1 x Sexual Penetration without Consent
• 1 x Armed Robbery
• 2 x Deprivation of Liberty

He is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday 23 December 2024.
