Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad have charged a 24-year-old man after incidents in Northbridge on Sunday, 8 December 2024.
It will be alleged about 7.50pm, the man riding an electric scooter, entered a liquor store on Lake Street where he stole some alcohol. It will be further alleged as security officers attempted to stop him leaving the store, he threatened them with a pair of scissors.
About 9.40pm, police located the man in Northbridge and during his arrest, it is alleged he bit a police officer on the arm, and gave officers a false name.
The 24-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with:
• Armed Robbery;
• Obstructing public officers;
• Assault Public Officer ; and
• Give False Personal Details to Police .
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 9 December 2024.
