News story
The Working with Children (WWC) Screening Unit launches new promotional resources for religious and faith-based organisations.
Last updated:

Ahead of National Volunteer Week (20-26 May 2024), a new campaign has been launched and encourages religious and faith-based organisations to sight, validate and register any new volunteer in child-related work that holds a WWC Card.

The “Have you checked?’ campaign promotes the use of the WWC Screening Unit online tools to ensure that a volunteer’s WWC Card is current and that the organisation is notified should a Negative Notice or Interim Negative Notice be issued.

The WWC Screening Unit has developed a suite of promotional resources specifically for religious and faith-based organisations to share across their networks. These include:

  • social media tiles
  • short videos for social or website
  • posters that can be displayed online or on any physical noticeboard.

To further support the religious and faith-based sector, the WWC Screening Unit are also holding an online session on 23 May for those who are interested in better understanding the WWC Check and organisational obligations. Visit the Eventbrite page to register for the online session.
