New industrial agreement for child protection workforce

A significant milestone has been reached with Community and Public Sector/Civil Service Association (CPSU/CSA) members formally accepting a new industrial Agreement for the child protection workforce.

The Department of Communities (Child Protection) CSA Agreement 2024 was made through direct negotiation with the CPSU/CSA, recognising the critically important work that child protection practitioners provide for vulnerable Western Australian families and communities.

It is a key step towards improving conditions and strengthening Western Australia’s child protection workforce as well as boosting the attraction and retention of staff in these roles.
