The approved provider Bayswater Child Care Association (Incorporated) which operates the service, Morley Out of School Care, was ordered to pay a penalty of $12,000 for contravening section 165(1) of the Education and Care Services National Law (WA) Act 2012 for the offence of inadequate supervision of a child.
A Department of Communities investigation found that the provider had failed to provide adequate supervision. As a result, a child left the service premises unsupervised.
Bayswater Child Care Association (Incorporated) was also ordered to pay $2,500 towards the Department’s legal costs.
More information on the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) order is available on the eCourts website.

"Despite Communities’ Education and Care Regulatory Unit providing ongoing information and support to the sector regarding the importance of active supervision, we continue to see cases where inadequate supervision has put children at risk."
