Arson Squad detectives have charged a 55-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a fire that occurred in Dudley Park on Monday, 15 September 2025.

It will be alleged about 1.50am, the man set fire to a large bale of recycled truck tyres that were secured on the flatbed of a Hino T-top truck, parked on Boundary Road.

The fire destroyed the truck and the load of tyres, resulting in an estimated $72,000 worth of damage.

It will be further alleged the intensity of the fire caused damage a nearby home.  Damage to power lines above the truck and nearby power poles caused a power outage.

The 55-year-old man from Coodanup has been charged with ‘Criminal Damage by Fire’ and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 17 September 2025.
