Armadale Detectives have charged a man in relation to a serious assault which occurred in Haynes (Armadale) on Thursday, 18 September 2025.
About 9.15am, it will be alleged the man assaulted a 64-year-old female victim who was standing in the aisle of a supermarket.
Police will allege the man forcefully pushed the victim into a shopping trolley and shelving, causing her to strike her head and fall to the ground.
Bystanders and staff provided assistance until St John WA paramedics arrived. The woman was conveyed to Armadale Hospital with serious head injuries, where she remains in a stable condition.
The man fled the scene on foot. Police located him at his home address a short time later, where he was arrested and taken into custody.
A 41-year-old man from Armadale has been charged with:
• 1 x ‘With intent to harm, did an act that caused bodily harm'
• 1 x 'Unlawful damage'
His bail was refused and he is due to appear before Armadale Magistrates Court today, 19 September 2025.
