Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section have charged a man in relation to a serious crash in Kenwick on Friday 3 January 2025.   About 7.50pm, a 54-year-old man was riding a bicycle across Belmont Road when it will be alleged he was struck by a vehicle. It will be further alleged the driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene or render assistance to the man.   The man received serious injuries in the crash and was taken by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital.   Yesterday, Sunday 5 January 2025, Major Crash Investigation Section officers seized a silver Hyundai Getz hatch and arrested a 64-year-old man. He has since been charged with: - 1 x Driver failed to stop and ensure assistance received after incident occasioning grievous bodily harm - 1 x Driver fail to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm   He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Monday 6 January 2025.   Major Crash Investigation Section officers are seeking CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone vision of the silver Hyundai Getz being driven in the Kenwick and surrounding areas in the time leading up to, and after the crash.
