
Arson Squad Detectives have charged a 62-year-old man as a result of their investigation into a house fire that occurred in Innaloo on Monday 7 April 2025.
About 4.40am, emergency services were called to a residence on Parsons Way.
It will be alleged the man ignited a fire inside the premises, causing the residence to engulf in flames and partially collapse.
The man then departed the residence in a vehicle, allegedly travelling to a real estate office on Scarborough Beach Road in Doubleview.
Upon arrival, it will be alleged the man attempted to ignite the premises by utilising Molotov Cocktails.
As a result of the incidents, the man received significant burns to his body and self-admitted himself to hospital for treatment.
A 62-year-old man from Innaloo has been charged with:
• 1 x Criminal Damage by Fire
• 1 x Attempting to Cause Explosion likely to do Serious Injury to Property
• 1 x Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday 8 April 2025.
