Strike Force Vulcan officers are reminding members of the community to report any suspicious people, vehicles, or activity in their area after a bushfire in Harrisdale on Tuesday, 5 November 2024.
About 1.15pm, officers on patrol sighted a bushfire in the Heronwood Reserve located on Harrisdale Drive. The fire spread quickly and put residential homes at immediate risk of being destroyed. Two hectares of bushland was burnt but fortunately, no homes were damaged.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended and extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious and Strike Force Vulcan officers wish to speak to a man seen walking two dogs in the area of the fire about 1.05pm, as he may have information that could assist with the investigation.
Anyone who has any information relating to this fire is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
