Last updated:

The Expert Consumer Panel represents the interests and opinions of Western Australian energy consumers in energy sector consultations and rulemaking processes. Panel members engage with energy companies, regulators and policy makers, attend committee meetings and forums, and make submissions on behalf of Western Australian energy customers.

Panellists will learn more about Western Australia's energy sector, engage in consumer advocacy and assist in decision making in the energy sector.

You can be considered for appointment to the Expert Consumer Panel by downloading and completing an application form and returning it to us by 6 May 2025.

Benefits include:

  • Being paid to help shape the WA energy sector.
  • The opportunity to be a consumer representative on high-level energy industry committees.
  • Invitations to WA Advocacy for Consumers of Energy (WA ACE) Forum meetings.
  • Annual one-on-one meeting with the Coordinator of Energy.
  • Access to WA ACE Small grant funding.

Membership should reflect the diversity of Western Australian communities and populations. We encourage gender diversity, persons with a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or people from other diverse backgrounds to apply.

Officers of the Western Australian Public Service, persons employed by or associated with energy sector participants or governance bodies, including the Australian Energy Market Operator and the Economic Regulation Authority, will not be eligible for appointment to the Expert Consumer Panel.
