Strike Force Vulcan officers are seeking the public’s assistance for information as they investigate the circumstances surrounding a bushfire that occurred in Ellenbrook on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

About 3.05pm, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were advised of a large bushfire in the vicinity of Broadway and Elmina Avenue.

The fire quickly spread and threatened homes and lives. Approximately 15 hectares of bushland was burnt in the fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and officers urge anyone with any information relating to this fire to contact Crime Stoppers either online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000. Reports can be made anonymously.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
