The project will deliver permanent, supportive housing for adults who are experiencing ongoing homelessness, rough sleeping and/or are earning a low income. Key features include a mix of Silver, Gold and Platinum liveable housing apartments for improved accessibility, a 24/7 front desk support service, landscaped areas, commercial tenancies and flexible office spaces for the delivery of a range of services to tenants.

East Perth Common Ground forms part of the Perth City Deal commitment, jointly funded by the State and Commonwealth Governments.

The $70 million East Perth Common Ground project is being built on the corner of Hill and Wellington Streets by ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd, following a targeted tender process in 2023.

A tender process to identify service providers to deliver tenancy and service supports for the facility opened in June 2024.

Common Ground is a key priority of the State Government's All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia's 10 Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020–2030, which aims to improve outcomes for Western Australians experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.

The WA Government is delivering a record investment of $3.2 billion into social housing and homelessness measures, which will see the delivery of around 5,000 social homes.
