People with a passion for ensuring that children in care have a voice are needed to join the Care Plan Review Panel.

The independent panel, which reports to the Department of Communities, reviews planning decisions for children in care of the Chief Executive Officer and is seeking a new Chair, as well as panel members and Aboriginal representatives.

Panel membership is for a three-year period, with renumeration set by the Public Sector Commission. Panel members are appointed by the CEO based on their experience, skills or qualifications and experience, which includes:

  • The Panel Chair must be legally qualified
  • Extensive experience in child and family welfare
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues for children and families
  • Panel members, other than Aboriginal members, must have a tertiary qualification in Law or the Social Sciences.

Department of Communities employees and carers approved by Communities’ CEO, who have a child placed with them, are ineligible to apply.

Applications close at 4pm on Monday 23 September 2024.

To apply, please send your curriculum vitae and a two-page letter outlining your suitability to the Care Plan Review Panel via CRP@communities.wa.gov.au or contact the panel’s Senior Advisor on 0476 791 313.
