Applications for the WA Training Awards open on Monday, 17 February 2025.

Apprentices, trainees, vocational students, trainers, employers, and training organisations can nominate for the prestigious awards, which recognise training excellence across 13 categories.

In 2024, the WA Training Awards celebrated its milestone 30th year of recognising excellence in vocational education and training with the calibre of winners making for a triumphant year at the national awards.

Broome's Albert Bevan was recognised as the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year and awarded a $5,000 cash prize. WA's only selective arts school, John Curtin College of the Arts, a direct entry finalist, was awarded Gold in the national School Pathways to VET Award category.

WA's 2024 Large Employer of the Year winner, WesTrac, was awarded silver in the national category, with the State's 2024 Large Trainer of the Year winner, MTA WA Training Inc, recognised with bronze.

As well as being recognised as the best in the State, individual WA Training Award winners receive a $3,000 cash prize.

Organisation award winners will be recognised as industry leaders and will be promoted and celebrated through a variety of media and marketing opportunities.

Winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony in September 2025

In 2025, the WA Training Awards will team up with a range of WA businesses and training sector stakeholders – including the State Training Board, Training Accreditation Council, returning principal sponsor MEGT, Apprenticeship Support Australia, Construction Training Fund, Maxima, and BUSY At Work.
