International driving permits are only available through the RAC. To apply, you need:
- a valid Australian driver’s licence
- a passport sized photo.
Photos must not be older than 12 months and cannot be reused from previous permits.
You should also check on local road rules, etiquette and laws in the country you are planning to visit.
Permits can be purchased:
- online with a Visa or Mastercard; or
- in person at any RAC Member Service Centre or Travel and Cruise Branch.
