You can apply for or renew a recreational fishing licence by:
- Applying online
- Downloading and completing an application form, (PDF)
- Completing a form at a Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Fisheries office
If applying by post, send your completed form and cheque or money order to:

Fees apply for each licensed fishing activity (please refer to the application form for more information). Concessions apply if you are under the age of 16 years, hold a Seniors Card or if you receive a pension.
You will receive your licence in the mail. Please allow up to 30 days from the date of issue of the receipt for it to arrive. You may fish while waiting for your licence to arrive provided you can produce the receipt.
Make sure you apply or renew in advance of when you plan to go fishing. You can change your recreational fishing licence contact details, in person, by post or online.
