If you are a public sector employee working in procurement, this program will give you an understanding of the public sector environment, practical skills in procurement planning, formation and contract management for goods and services and community services procurement. It is hosted by Scope Training and, if completed in conjunction with the optional assessments, you will be awarded a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP50616).
This program will deliver high quality procurement training customised for the public sector, provide career development opportunities for public sector procurement practitioners and promote the Government's strategic procurement objective of delivering value for money procurement outcomes to government through well trained practitioners.
Who is this training suitable for?
This program is suitable for WA Public Sector employees involved in procurement and contract management roles, such as Procurement Practitioners and Procurement Specialists. The training caters to Goods and Services and Community Services procurement.
You will learn
You will gain practical skills and knowledge required to effectively work in procurement roles. Topics covered include:
- Procurement planning
- The tender process
- Contract management
- Contract negotiation
Qualification and accreditation
This course has five modules that can be undertaken either independently or together. If you successfully complete modules in conjunction with the optional assessments, you will gain Statements of Attainment and build credit towards a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting.
If you want to achieve formal accreditation, you will be required to undertake a range of theoretical and practical assessments comprised of small group work, individual and group presentations, the completion of assessments and some distance learning. The modules are all competency-based training accredited against units of competency under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Please note, if you do not wish to obtain a formal qualification, you can still attend class-based modules to gain the relevant knowledge.
