1. When does AWEAG meet?

AWEAG meets roughly quarterly. There are no meetings over December and January. The meeting schedule can be found on the AWEAG meeting schedule page

2. Who can submit an agenda item?

We welcome all to propose items for our agenda, and we particularly encourage submissions from other agencies. For those who are part of the department, please visit the Aboriginal Hub to access the guidelines and relevant forms for agenda item submission.

For external stakeholders, our prerequisite is sponsorship from a Deputy Director General within the department for your agenda item and relevance of topic. 
 

3. How does our agency request an agenda submission?

If you are ready to request an agenda submission, please contact the department’s Aboriginal Engagement and Partnerships via the contact below.

Please allow up to three business days for a response.

For those external to the department and have not had prior contact with AWEAG, please introduce yourself, the proposed item, and sponsor. This will allow us to discuss the agenda item with you and provide appropriate guidelines if we find your proposal suitable. There is no guarantee that your proposal will be accepted.

4. We would like to provide an update to AWEAG without seeking any action Is this possible?

Yes, this is possible and would be classified as a noting. If you want to provide a noting to AWEAG, please follow the standard submission process. You will be informed whether your noting is applicable. 

5. What does AWEAG provide?

AWEAG contributes advice that aids in the development of policies and procedures. These policies and procedures are directly connected to matters concerning water resources, the environment, and Aboriginal communities in WA. 

6. How do I become a member of AWEAG?
