What you need to provide
Show moreEach application is assessed on an individual basis and as such, owing to numerous variables, there may be different requirements dependent on the reason for the licence.
Clubs that apply for range approval must supply the following:
- Firearm Range Application. See all resources section.
- Authority Letter - An official letter nominating a point of contact for all matters pertaining to the Firearm Range application and associated approval that authorises that person to act on behalf of the Firearm Range.
- Company/Business Extract or Incorporation Registration.
- Evidence of Land Ownership/Lease Agreement - A letter or lease agreement from the land owner permitting the establishment and construction of the Firearm Range on their land and any applicable Firing Rights Agreement.
- Local Shire/Government Authority - A letter of approval from the local Shire/Government Authority permitting the construction and operation of a Firearm Range at the location.
- Firearm Range Assessment/Inspection - Completed by an Approved Firearm Range Assessor (should you require details of Approved Firearm Range Assessors please ask your association before licensing services).
- Danger Area Template.
- Range photographs to include:
- The actual Firearms Range/s and its surrounding features.
- Stop butts, side berms and any over-head baffling.
- Firing line booths and each shooting mound.
- Target area, mountings and systems.
- Club house and out-buildings (plus a detailed floor plan).
- Entry and gate points, roadways and fencing; and
- Entry gate/s and fencing warning signs, and warning danger flags.
- Firearm Range Maintenance Plan.
- Firearm Range Orders; and
- Fire/Emergency Plan.
On supplying the documents to Licensing Services your application will be assessed and if approved, you will receive a Range Approval Letter.
