The Road Safety Action Plan 2024-2026 is the second of four plans under the Driving Change Strategy for WA (2020-2030). It builds on the 2021-2023 plan and outlines key initiatives aimed at achieving ambitious road safety targets for the state.

The Driving Change Strategy identifies five priority areas that the government, in collaboration with business, the not-for-profit sector and the wider community will focus on over the next ten years:

• Safe Roads

• Safe Road Users

• Safe Speeds

• Safe Vehicles

• Post-Crash Response

The Road Safety Action Plan for 2024-2026 has a particular emphasis on improving data collection and evidence, safer speeds for local streets, enforcement and behaviour change, new technology, and a focus on priority cohorts including novice drivers, young people, heavy vehicles, motorcyclists, and those in the regions.
