Community Initiatives Grant Program

The Government of Western Australia has made funds available from the Road Trauma Trust Account (RTTA) for community initiatives that assist in promoting road safety across the state.
Last updated:

Target areas include key performance indicators within the Driving Change - Road Safety Strategy 2020-2030, including Safe Road Users, Safe Roads, Safe Vehicles, Safe Speeds, and Post-Crash Response.

The Road Safety Commission’s Community Initiatives Grant Program supports the development and implementation of one-off community activities and sustainable projects related to road safety. The program consists of two streams: event grants and project grants.

Road Safety Event Grants

Road Safety Event Grants provide funding to support road safety promotions and some applicable event costs, to engage community on a relevant road safety message. These grants aim to increase road safety awareness and understanding.

Eligible organisations can apply for Event Grants up to $5,000.

Road Safety Project Grants

Road Safety Project Grants provide funding to support a road safety project and applicable project costs, to engage community on a relevant road safety issue. The project, which can run for up to 12 months, will aim to positively influence behaviour on WA roads to help make every journey safe.

Eligible organisations can apply for project grants up to $25,000.
