Western Australia's Petroleum and Geothermal Explorer’s Guide
Western Australia’s Petroleum and Geothermal Explorer’s Guide 2014 Edition is designed to provide general information and guidance on the legislative framework for the following;
- companies considering exploring and investing in Western Australia’s upstream petroleum and geothermal energy industries, and
- companies currently involved in those industries.
It may also be a reference for the public and other government agencies.
Information in this guide relates predominantly to petroleum and geothermal energy resources activity in WA, its onshore and State Waters areas. This includes islands, which are administered under the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967, the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982, the Petroleum Pipelines Act 1969 and the Petroleum Act 1936.
Western Australia Mineral and Petroleum Statistics Digest
The Western Australian Mineral and Petroleum Statistics Digest contains key statistical information and analysis on the WA resource sector. It provides comprehensive coverage on the composition, magnitude and performance of the WA mineral and petroleum industry.
It includes an analysis of selected major commodities as well as price trends, the State’s position as a resources’ exporter, royalty receipts, employment and investment.
Data covers mineral and petroleum quantity and values, royalty receipts, employment, mineral titles, as well as listing contact details for principal producers. The publication is available electronically and is published for each financial year and calendar year.
Petroleum in Western Australia (PWA)
The Petroleum in Western Australia (PWA) magazine has been replaced by the Resource and Environmental Regulation Group (RER Group) eNewsletter. To stay informed about changes to petroleum legislation, development projects, trends and other petroleum industry news, subscribe to the RER Group eNewsletter.
The PWA magazine was a biannual publication focused on highlighting petroleum exploration, development and production activities in State waters and onshore areas of WA. The eNewsletter concluded in 2017 with the machinery of government changes that combined the former Department of Mines and Petroleum with the Department of Commerce.
