Inquiry into Wage Theft in Western Australia

The WA Government announced the Inquiry into Wage Theft in Western Australia in January 2019. The Inquiry was undertaken by Mr Tony Beech, former Chief Commissioner of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

The WA Government released the Report of the Inquiry into Wage Theft in Western Australia on 6 December 2019.

The Inquiry Report makes a total of 28 recommendations to address wage theft in Western Australia.

The Inquiry received 20 submissions from workers, unions, employers and employer organisations and community organisations in Western Australia.

Ministerial Review of the State Industrial Relations System

The Ministerial Review was undertaken by Mr Mark Ritter SC who was assisted by Mr Stephen Price MLA. 

The Final Report of the Ministerial Review of the State Industrial Relations System, and the State Government's proposed reforms in response to the review were tabled in State Parliament on 11 April 2019.

The Final Report makes a total of 85 recommendations for reform of the state industrial relations system to ensure it is modern, fair and accessible.

The Ministerial Review received 65 submissions.

The Ministerial Review published an Interim Report (PDF 6.95MB) on 20 March 2018.
