In the past 20 years, the proportion of Western Australia’s population born in Asia has more than doubled. WA values its relationships across Asia and is committed to strengthening these cultural and economic connections.
Asian markets are substantial and constitute some of the most rapidly growing economies in the world. WA intends to take a focused and targeted approach to seizing this economic opportunity to not only grow but diversify, its exports into Asia. Key to this will be an ongoing commitment to fostering awareness, understanding and collaboration between WA and our Asian neighbours.
We support WA’s relationship with Asia through trade and investment, tourism, international education, sister-state agreements, sport and cultural exchange programs, and Ministerial engagement.
