The winner received a prize of $30,000.

A semi-vapor electrolyser system for cost-effective green hydrogen production.
Nepternal Hydrogen has developed a breakthrough system that produces 99.999% ultra-pure hydrogen directly from seawater in Western Australia, with an impressive 76% efficiency and an energy consumption of just 43.6 kWh per kilogram of hydrogen. In addition to hydrogen, the system generates pure water and 99.999% pure oxygen as valuable by-products. Successfully verified at pilot scale and backed by Curtin Venture Studio, Nepternal Hydrogen provides scalable, cost-effective electrolyser solutions leveraging local natural resources, positioning WA as a key player in the global hydrogen industry.
