Join us to start your career while studying. This program offers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander undergraduates the opportunity to contribute to statewide projects and initiatives, leveraging your skills and knowledge to positively impact the West Australian economy.

The program is for one year, with the option to extend for another one to 2 years, giving you the chance to progress your career with JTSI.  

If you successfully complete the program and your university degree, we may consider you for a full-time permanent position at JTSI. You may also apply for other roles at JTSI or in the WA public sector, as advertised on the WA government jobs board. A reimbursement scheme is also available to cover part costs of your course (contact us if you need more information).  

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and eager to learn, curious with a can-do attitude and clear communicators.

  • Supply a CV of no more than 2 pages. Be sure to provide details of your education, work experience and relevant skills.

  • Attach a copy of your academic transcript.

  • A cover letter is optional and can be one page long. This will help us get to know you a bit more and could include: 

      - reasons why you are applying,

      - what your career goals are for the next 5 years,

      - tell us about what you know and what your experience is through studies and work that aligns with this opportunity in JTSI.

Who can apply

  • You must be an Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander.

  • We are looking for undergraduates in their first year of study for their Bachelor’s degree.

  • You must have completed a minimum of one semester of the first year of your undergraduate degree.

      - Arts: (International Relations, Communication & Media, Political Science) 

      - Communications: (Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations)

      - Commerce: (Enterprise & Innovation, Tourism and Event Management, Marketing, Business Analytics) 

      - Global Security: (Politics, Counterterrorism) 

      - Biomedical Science: (Humanities, Business Law) 

      - Science: (Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Physics)
