The company is currently developing the Universal Spacer System (USS), a revolutionary spacer system that can be used with all inhalation delivery devices - Metered Dose Inhalers, Nebulisers and Dry Powder Inhalers. The goal for the USS is a system that safely, easily, and reliably delivers adequate doses of medication to patients on inhaled therapy - especially when they are unwell.
The current focus is on the nebulizer variant of the USS where the key feature is the unique, thin-walled, spherical collapsible reservoir, which forms a buffer between the delivery device and the user’s mouth. Together with strategically placed valves in the mouthpiece, this creates a closed-circuit system that effectively prevents aerosol escape during exhalation.
Data generated to date demonstrates how effectively the USS can improve safety, efficiency, and most importantly, consistency of inhaled dose delivery from nebulizers.
