About
Western Australia has a history of innovative medical research that has been successfully translated and commercialised into novel medical products.
The WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub is a partnership between MTPConnect (Australia's Life Sciences Innovation Accelerator), The University of Western Australia, and the Western Australian Government. It is one of five WA Innovation Hubs that deliver programs to connect the innovation community, build entrepreneurial capacity, attract investment, and foster commercialisation. The other Innovation Hubs supported by the WA government are CyberWest, WA Data Science Innovation Hub, Creative Tech Village, and The GreenTech Hub – coming 2024.
The mission of the Hub is to contribute to the development and diversification of the state’s economy by supporting the growth of the health and medical life sciences (HMLS) sector, which will create jobs and future opportunities for local industry, innovators, and patients.
The Hub engages and supports all stakeholders across the WA HMLS sector, including; researchers, research institutions, the health system, government, investors, service providers, industry, start-ups and clinicians.
The Hub is focused on supporting and promoting WA’s local capabilities, whilst ensuring that the state is integrated into national and international initiatives and programs so that the WA ecosystem is connected locally and globally.
