If you are a public sector employee working in procurement, the Procurement and Contracting Vocational Program (PCVP) will give you an understanding of the public sector environment, practical skills in procurement planning, formation and contract management for goods and services and community services procurement.

Participants can attain a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP50616) if all Modules are completed in conjunction with the optional assessments. For more information, visit the PCVP homepage.  

Module 5: Contract Managment & Finalisation

You will learn 

You will gain practical skills and knowledge required to effectively manage and finalise contracts within the WA Public Sector. You will: 

  • Reading and applying complex documents, including contracts, legislation and guidelines 
  • Writing management reports and keeping records of meetings, liaison, notes and follow-up actions 
  • Building effective working relationships with contractors and stakeholders 
  • Resolving disputes, conflict and complaints 
  • Consulting and negotiating with contractors and stakeholders, involving complex oral and written exchanges of information 
  • Writing closure reports 
  • Finalising outstanding issues so the contract can be closed 
  • Identifying improvements to the contract management process 

Who is this training suitable for? 

This program is suitable for WA Public Sector employees involved in procurement and contract management roles, such as Procurement Practitioners and Procurement Specialists. The training caters to Goods and Services and Community Services procurement.
