If you are a public sector employee working in procurement, the Procurement and Contracting Vocational Program (PCVP) will give you an understanding of the public sector environment, practical skills in procurement planning, formation and contract management for goods and services and community services procurement.
Participants can attain a Diploma of Procurement and Contracting (PSP50616) if all Modules are completed in conjunction with the optional assessments. For more information, visit the PCVP homepage.
Module 2: Planning for procurement
Provides procurement and contracting officers with the skills and knowledge required in planning for procurement within the WA Public Sector Procurement environment.
You will learn
You will gain practical skills and knowledge required in planning for procurement within the WA Public Sector Procurement environment. You will:
- Develop a market research plan for a procurement activity
- Utilise tools to determine internal demand and supply side capability
- Assess risk and prepare a risk management plan
- Develop and write a business case
- Identify and segment stakeholders for effective management
- Implement a range of appropriate stakeholder communication
- Demonstrate effective team leadership for project team and stakeholders
- Understand and remedy common problems when leading stakeholder engagement.

This program is suitable for WA Public Sector employees involved in procurement and contract management roles, such as Procurement Practitioners and Procurement Specialists. The training caters to Goods and Services and Community Services procurement.
