Recruitment and Selection, Eligibility and Employment Screening
Show moreRecruitment and Selection
The Magistrates Courts and Specialist Jurisdictions Directorate recruits through rolling appointment pools throughout the year (merit select process). These advertisements can be found at jobs.wa.gov.au.
Vacancies can be advertised as an appointment pool or as single vacancy advertisement at a specific location. Appointment pools are used to build a talent pool for positions that become available. If you are deemed suitable you will be placed in the talent pool which are generally open for 12 or 24 months, however specific timeframes will be outlined in the job advert. Being selected to a pool does not guarantee employment.
The Magistrates Court and Tribunals also has a Temporary Employment Register for the Customer Service and Case Management Officer positions, where applicants can submit their resume and be offered a casual or fixed term contract on a short-term basis (non-merit selected). This can also be found at jobs.wa.gov.au.
Eligibility
To be eligible for permanent appointment, you will need to be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen. You may need to possess a current C-Class Drivers Licence.
At the time of an application, refer to the relevant job advertisement for any further eligibility requirements.
Employment Screening
Before being employed by the Department you will be required to have an employment screening check undertaken. This may include both a National Criminal History Check and a National Security Vetting Clearance. All successful applicants, including fixed–term contract and casuals, will be required to complete employment screening checks. All information is treated in the strictest of confidence and in accordance with the Department's Employment Suitability - Criminal Record Check and Security Vetting Policy.
