In Western Australia, the law requires that all electrical work is carried out by a person who holds the relevant electrical licence. Licensed electrical contractors must employ licensed electricians to carry out electrical work on their behalf. Only licensed electricians meet the required competency standards. These include appropriate competencies in work practices, equipment and installation.
Plumbing
Only a plumber who holds a licence issued by the Plumbers Licensing Board can legally carry out water supply, sanitary and drainage plumbing work in Western Australia. Licensing plumbers reduces risks to public health, safety and the environment by ensuring they are competent and sufficiently qualified to do plumbing work that complies with plumbing regulations and standards.
Gas fitting
Always use a licensed gas fitter for installations, repairs or renovations involving gas work.
