Guidance
Water quality protection note aimed at improving the quality of drinking water in self-supplied Aboriginal communities.
Last updated:

This note provides advice and recommendations to self-supplied Aboriginal communities, generally with a population less than 50, who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of their water supply.

The note provides information on how to minimise impacts on water resources from incompatible land uses and activities such as septic tanks, wastewater, fuel storage and landfills. It also provides guidance on acceptable practices that can be used to protect water quality.
