These guidelines are designed to be used for establishing and operating minesite water monitoring programs in order to protect the quality of the region’s water resources.
They apply where a program is used to monitor changes in water quality resulting from a mining operation involving, for example, handling of chemicals and the disposal of wastes. They apply to samples taken for physical and chemical analyses only, not to bacteriological or biological samples.
