Mine Closure Plan Guideline
The purpose of the Mine Closure Plan Guideline is to provide guidance to applicants on how to prepare a Mine Closure Plan (MCP) in accordance with the Mining Act 1978 (Mining Act) and the Mining Regulations 1981 (Regulations).
Stakeholder comments
The guideline was released on the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s (DEMIRS) website for public comment from 14 May 2024 to 25 June 2024, with a number of stakeholders providing feedback.
The review process notified respondents that their submissions would be made publicly available on the department’s website. For the purposes of grouping and responding to feedback from stakeholders more efficiently, the submissions have been arranged by theme. Feedback submissions are included verbatim.
