Prior to lodgement, a knowledge of tenement conditions is encouraged to reduce assessment and approval periods. A consideration of the tenement holder, pastoral and general leases, reserves and other protected land, Commonwealth land, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage, private land, mineral rights, roads, railways, pipelines and file notation areas and Indigenous land use agreements are crucial conditions prior to PoW lodgement.

Be aware that The Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) may seek advice from proponents or other agencies such as the Environmental Protection Authority, the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
